As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

1: Preparation of manuscripts

Manuscripts must be submitted in English and written according to correct grammar and terminology. Manuscripts should be printed in 12-point Times New Roman font in MS Word format in one column using Letter-size paper; the marginal distance from top to bottom is 2.98 cm, from the left side 2 cm, and from the right side 1.61 cm. No line number should be applied to the manuscript. The manuscript must be submitted once to receive only one submission identification number. Submitting more than one manuscript may result in the loss of the opportunity to consider the manuscript.

1-1: Writing in English

All publications in DJVS are in English. Authors whose first language is not English should ensure that their manuscripts are written in colloquial English before submission. Please write your text in good English (American or British usage is acceptable, but not a combination). DJVS does not offer any language and copy-editing services; thus, authors who feel that their manuscripts may require editing to remove potential grammatical or spelling errors are encouraged to obtain such services prior to submission. Authors are responsible for all costs associated with these services.

1.2: New Submissions

The submission process to DJVS is done online, and authors will be guided step-by-step through the creation and uploading of manuscript files. As part of the manuscript, authors can submit the manuscript as a single file to be used in the refereeing process. This can be a Word document (*.docx) that referees use to evaluate the manuscript. All figures and tables should be included and included in the main manuscript file in the result section; separating these elements at the end of the manuscript will increase the chance of the manuscript being rejected.

1-3: References

The list of references must be provided according to the

DJVS in a formatted style. Where applicable, they should be formatted as follows

(APA) style

Author's name (last name, author's first name, then father's name), full book title, page number from which the book is cited, publisher of the book, and year the book was published.

Please note that you can enter references using Mendeley or Endnote, another reference citation program. In addition, it is essential to include a DOI identifier at the end of each reference; if this identifier is not available, the URL of the reference can be used; failure to implement these minimum requirements for reference formatting and style will increase the chance of manuscript rejection.

1-4: Revised submissions

Regardless of the original file format, when reviewing, authors are required to submit their DJVS-formatted manuscripts in a Word document with a *.docx extension only. Keep the text layout as simple as possible. To avoid unnecessary errors, authors are strongly advised to use “Spell Check” and “Grammar Check” for the submitted manuscript.  At this point, the author(s) name, affiliation, email address, and ORCID should be included in the main manuscript file.

2: Manuscript Structure

The manuscript literature and tenses should be organized as follows: Title; Abstract; Keywords; Highlights; Introduction; Materials and Methods; Results and Discussion; Conclusion; Acknowledgments; and References, and submitted in a limited-size file.

2-1: Title of the manuscript

- The title of the research should not contain more than 17 words, do not include the name of the research site, country or city, no abbreviations, avoid complex and technical expressions, do not use ambiguous expressions, and the author whose mother tongue is Arabic should submit the title of the research in Arabic.

2-2: Abstract

An abstract of 150 to 250 words that summarizes the purpose of the study, basic procedures, main results, novelty, discussions, and main conclusions, and may not contain any abbreviations or unspecified references. An author whose native language is Arabic must submit an abstract in Arabic.

2-3: Keywords.

Three to five keywords that can be used for indexing purposes must be provided. Keywords should not repeat the title words of the manuscript or contain abbreviations and should be written in alphabetical order and separated by a semicolon. Abbreviations should be defined at the first mention and used consistently throughout the text.

2-4: Highlights

Highlights are mandatory for DJVS. A highlight is a short, concise statement that conveys the key findings of your research. The approximate length of a highlighted element is only 3 to 5 bullet points

2-5: Introduction

Briefly describes the background of the investigation with up-to-date information and explains the aim of the study.

2-6: Materials and methods

Sufficient detail should be provided to enable reproduction of the experiments. Support the techniques and methods used with references. Animal investigations should conform to institutional and/or equivalent guides for animal care and use. Metric and standard international units of measurement should be used in this section and throughout the manuscript. Identify the computer program used for statistical analysis and specify the statistical terms, abbreviations, and symbols applied.

2-7: Results

Present the results and their significance. Graphs and tables should be self-explanatory. Do not repeat data presented in tables in the form of numbers. Tables and figures should be numbered in the order in which they are mentioned in the text.

2-8: Discussion

Relevant up-to-date references support the critical review and interpretation of the results. Repetition of data should be avoided. It should end with concise conclusions. In shorter communications, results and discussion can be combined.

2-9: Conclusion

This section should highlight the company's key discoveries and explain the added value of the key discovery without reference to the literature.

2-10: Acknowledgments

Acknowledgments to people, grants, funds, etc. should be placed in a separate section before the list of references. The names of the funding organizations should be written in full. The financial support for the study, if any, should be mentioned in this section. Thus, the grant number of the financial support should be included.

2.11: Conflict of interest

A conflict of interest statement should be included in the manuscript below: “The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest in relation to the publication and/or funding of this manuscript.”

2-12: References

Please note that you can enter your references using Mendeley, Endnote, or other reference formatting software. Literature references (in parentheses) should be numbered consecutively in the text in the order in which they appear first and listed at the end of the manuscript. Journal titles should be abbreviated according to MEDLINE (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/). Personal contacts or unpublished data should not be mentioned in the text or reference list

4: Tables

Do not submit tables as a photograph. Tables should be placed within the text and have a clear, rational structure and consecutive numerical order. All tables should be numbered (1, 2, 3, etc.). Sufficient information should be provided in the subheadings so that each table is understandable without reference to the text. For each table, please provide a table title (heading) that explains the components of the table. Identify any previously published material by citing the source at the end of the table title

5: Figures

Figures/illustrations should be of high quality, with a resolution of 200-300 dpi. Make sure the figures are clear, labeled, and at a size that can be clearly reproduced in the magazine. Figures should be placed within the text. The following notes should be applied to the figures:

1- Each figure should have a brief title that accurately describes what the figure depicts, and the titles should be included in the text of the manuscript.

2- Figure titles begin with the word “Figures”, and there should be headings placed below the figures.

3- No punctuation may be placed at the end of the caption.

4- Identify all the elements in the figure in the figure title, and use squares, circles, etc. as coordinate points in the diagrams.

5- Identify previously published material by citing the source as a reference at the end of the figure caption.
